Charlie E. Forsyth, 83, of Roanoke Rapids died Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.
Charlie was born April 14, 1931 in Franklin County, NC to the late Samuel and Caldonia T. Forsyth.
Charlie was loved by all who knew him; his loss will be felt by many. Carrying on his tradition of faith and family will ease his passing with time. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Air Force, an Independent Truck Driver for 40 years, a master gardener and choir member of Smith United Methodist Church.
Charlie is lovingly survived by his wife of 62 years, Rosalyn S. Forsyth; four children: Charles Richard Forsyth and his wife Cynthia, Debra F. Daniel and her husband Steve, Cedric Scott Forsyth and his wife Ann and Jeffrey Glen Forsyth; his grandchildren: Brent Daniel, Kimberly Bender and her husband Will, Scott Forsyth and his wife Cathrine, Cheryl Yoacham and her husband Chris and Andy Forsyth; his great grandchildren: Joshua, Gail, Christian and Alicia Forsyth, Kaley and Cade Daniel, Forrest, Allison and Elizabeth Bender; his sister: Frances Dugger and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Smith United Methodist Church, 1216 Smith church Road, Roanoke Rapids, with Pastor Thomas Schwartz officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 – 8:30 P.M. Friday, August 15, 2014 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service and other times at the home.
