Lacy Ward Byrum, 77, died at his residence January 2, 2014.
Mr. Byrum was born in Bertie County to the late Ruben Byrum and Nettie Seuiss. He worked with the Patterson Mill for 38 years. He loved his family and the outdoors, especially fishing.
Surviving is his wife of 34 years, Kathy Starke Byrum, of the home; one daughter, Wendy Byrum of Roanoke Rapids, three brothers, Spencer Byrum of Como, NC, Roger Byrum of Greensboro, NC and “Red” Byrum of South Carolina; three sisters, Mary Lee of Colerain, NC, Patsy Barnes of Edenton, NC, and Wendy Byrum of Little Washington, NC. Also surviving are many, many grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
The family will have a service to celebrate Mr. Byrum’s life at a later date.
